I'm still alive but there has been some technical difficulties with my blog. In the mean time...
Things are going great here in Brazil. Like I said before I got a new companion. She's awesome. As I also said before she is from Fortaleza. I'm learned that just like the south of the US there are 2 types of people. I would compare her the the Southern Bell. You know... the conservative type. We get along great. :)
We've been having a lot of miracles happen around us. The other sisters in our house are doing great as well and we have big goals for this transfer.
Morgan sent me some questions that I'm sure some of you are wondering as well.
What have you learned recently in your studies? What's something about the Gospel that has touched you recently? Or a topic that you never really paid much attention to? How are you applying what you're learning?
Before I left California President Jackson issued an invitation to re-read the Book of Mormon all the way through and mark all the scriptures that have something to do with The Atonement in red and then I was also wanting to mark all the scriptures that have something to do with the Plan of Salvation in Blue. I wont be finished with it by the date that they were going to finish but it's something that I will finish and want to continue with in the Bible when I get home. Those two subjects are everywhere in the scriptures. The plan our Father in Heaven has for us and the key that makes it all possible. Gaining a vision of "the whole story" helps in every aspect of life. nothing is too hard when you understand and see the whole picture.
What are some of the differences from missionary work in Brazil versus CA? What are the challenges you are facing? What struggles have you overcome or are overcoming? Details.
Here EVERYONE believes in Christ. There is no other belief. In California it wasn't the case. That was a total change for me. Even out of all the missions in Brasil, Florianópolis does things totally different as well. It's a different people here in the south. (Like I said going to the south of brasil is like going to texas. Their just different. ;)) Because of that, they do thing a lot differently. It really is like two different missions. Learning what touches people and how to do it in Portuguese is really all that I have to do. (yeah... really not that big of a deal.) The language is getting better. I can understand my companion so that is a step in the right direction. :)
All and all things are going well. Glad everyone is doing good. Thanks for the love and suport.
