This week has been really good.
A few funny things. We work in a little bit of a tourist town. (life is good) Normaily there isn't all that much to talk about as far as out side of our own little world that consist of all the people that we are working with but everyonce in a while we get a little something. A few weeks ago we were walking down the main tourist part and My companion say this brasilian soap star. She was really sad that we didn't get to talk to him but it was enough to have something to talk about for a week or so. There is a family in our ward that has kids that work for DisneyBrasil. It's not as big time as Actual Disney but it is cool around here.
Today we went to the store and while walking down the cereal aile (which by the way is seriously lacking here in Brasil) I was looking at the box of oatmeal in front of me when a man walked by and said [hello] Sister F Santos greated him back but I didn't really even hear the exchange. She turns to me and says Sister! That man is on Brasilian TV! I turn and look to see a very tall man with a cart and a really cute little 1 year old boy in the cart playing with the box of what ever they call Fruit Loops. He seemed like the type that would be on something cool. She called out to him and asked if he was from around here. He said no and then a conversation started. He asked where we were from and after I said the US he started to speak english to me. He had lived in Kansas of all places for a year or so and spoke pretty well. He infact had worked on tv for a while but now that he is married and is a dad things have slown down. We talked to him for a little bit. He was really nice. We set a time to visit him and his family tomorrow morning. ---I love Brazil. I have no idea who these people are and it really has nothing to do with what is really important in life but it does add some zest to our day.
now onto something compleatly different....
I was sitting in church yesterday and just thought how wonderfully blessed I was. I've got losts to be grateful for. Everything is coming along little by little. The people here are really great. As grateful as I am, I'm still looking for miracles in my life.
I was reading in the Book of Mormon Ether Chapter 12
16Yea, and even all they who wrought amiracles wrought them by bfaith, even those who were before Christ and also those who were after.
18And neither at any time hath any wrought miracles until after their faith; wherefore they first believed in the Son of God.
I just wanted to tell you all that I do know that my Saviour lives. I know that nothing is impossible when you have faith in Him. Everyone has struggles but they really are nothing comparied to what He sufford for us. I find strength in Him. I use to think of my life as something I had to havve control over but I learned a long while back that true happiness really comes when we give up control and just do what the spirit tells us to do. Blessing come and Miracles happen when we think of Him first. What he would want is a whole lot better than what we could ever plan.
Love you all
Keep the faith, That's where the true happiness comes from
