Fairy Dust

This week was one of if not the most physically draining weeks of my time here. But today I was able to sleep a little bit. Yeah Sleep! (-That's where I'm a Viking!)

Here is a lesson that I learned this week. God normally doesn't use any magic fairy dust to take away your problems. -Really I already knew this but for some strange reason everyone we talked to this week seemed to think so. We meet a woman this week that was in her 50's basically breaking every commandment in the book and then blaming everyone else for her problems. We set a time to get back to her but in return she gave the address of her sick mother. Her Mother told us the whole story of her families problems. -It was ugly. One thing after another of all the poor choices that her children made. She, herself, was an honest humble woman who loved her children and acked for them. It was really sad. She said that before all this went way wrong she had lived with some Missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. She was meeting with them and happy but when the time came to get Baptised and actually make the necessary changes in her life (there weren't many) she decided against it and moved away. In this moment I couldn't help but imagine where her life would be if she had made that one decision to move forward. Every decision in our lives makes a huge impact on the future. I don't know what is going on in the lives of most of the world out there but I do know that it is only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we can make true changes in our lives. I could study everyday about the hows and whys of the Atonement and about what it actually means but in reality it isn't until you use it and really make those changes that you can feel it. In Short... the atonement doesn't mean anything unless it means something to you. It isn't fairy dust. It's real. It hurts, but it's worth it.

Please. I don't know who is reading this but don't let this moment pass by. Take this moment and try it. Pray for forgiveness from your heart and learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
