Happy Halloween!

That really doesn't mean all that much here. They don't any real customs that follow this it actually is a memorial day for them on the 1st. --But as my dad always says "facts spoil the story" HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This week was a bit of a bummer. My new companion got bit by a junkyard dog and had to get stitches. We could barely leave the house. but luckily they come out tomorrow. yeah! --Working is hard but house arrest is even worse. We were able to get out to go to English class the other day. (I realize I've talked a lot about my English Class... We do more than just teach English here, but I just have gotten some of the best stories from there.) Everyday we start and end with a prayer. I explain for all the new people that when I was in CA serving I didn't have anyone to talk to and practice with but that really I had prayer. I could talk to at least Someone who could understand me everyday. This was something that helped me a lot. As a blessing the language has come along. I can understand all the basics and due to my years of Spanish in the basement I can pick out some of the rhythms and tones of the language. People know that I am American but at least they say 'hey cool you learned things fast'. and in the English class they are all the more impressed. I Tell them the truth. Study and A LOT of prayers. It was hard to get them going and feeling comfortable enough to pray but right now they are started to volunteer to say the prayer in English. The one that surprised me the most was this 12 year old with a red Afro. Every time that I look at him to give an answer or something he freezes with the 'dear in the head-lights'/I think I'm going to die look on his face. The other day he came in and said "oi teacher, can I say the prayer today?" It's amazing to see things like that. When you come to know that someone is listening it becomes real.

Thanks for your love and support.
