Who ever knows this song get 100 cool points.
So a part of our work is giving a free English class to help find people who want to learn more about the gospel. the only problem is that everyone wants their KIDS to learn. We have a lot of "young adults" that come mostly in the ages of 11 to 14 -It's a good age really but every once in a while you get the really obnoxious ones that want to learn (kind of) but mostly just came because a friend invited them and also want to joke around. Normally they don't get too rowdy but every once in a while the actual adults that are there want to smack them. I, well, I'm human. I start thinking that really - I don't like kids that aren't related to me- but then you get days at church like yesterday. During Sacrament meeting I was waiting on the stand to share my testimony and a young boy of about 10 or 11 years old got up and shared his testimony. He was dressed nice and seemed well behaved. It was short and sweet and said purely that he knew the gospel was true. He sat down and then his father got up. His father began to cry and said that he had been in-active in the church for a few years and really didn't know how much his son remembered, but to hear his son say "Eu sei que a Igreja é verdadeira." touched his heart. He began to weep and as I looked at his little family on the front row and his young son began to well up in tears as well. It was one of those pure moments that make you think about your own life and the blessing of repentance through our Savior Jesus Christ. After I shared my testimony I went and sat down next to the child of one of our friends. He is 7 and very impressionable. He looked at me and said "does everyone have to go up there and talk?" I said no, but someday you may want to. "he looked forward seriously and said "If I went up there I'd get embarrassed." I told him he didn't have to and said that people who go up there want to share their feelings for Jesus and the gospel. He turned and looked at me and said "ok, I'll got up there next week. ...My mom wants to get baptised in this church and when I turn 8 I want to get baptised too. I always want to go to church. I don't want to turn into a thief or a liyer, I want to be on God's path. This is what God wants, huh?..." My heart filled again. "yes" I told him, "you are a good boy."
It's amazing the purity of Children. They see everything so perfectly. I want to be like them someday.
Nothings wrong with these kids, today.
:)
Love you all!
